Adventure Therapies Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Program (CBT) is a one of a kind offering that is based on the theory that internal factors such as thoughts and feelings cause certain behaviors as opposed to external people, things or situations.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy works to help modify the way that each client thinks, feels, and acts in a positive way even when the influences around you remain the same.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on learning the most effective skills available to enhance coping both behaviorally and cognitively. Simply put, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy works on changing the thinking process. It also teaches clients how to worry about the now and manage those problems. This requires great efforts on the part of the client and the therapist. With the help of the skilled therapists at Adventure Therapies we can help our clients identify obstructive ways of thinking and change them for the better.

Eligibility:
The Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is open to all Adventure Therapies clients who qualify. Clients should have a level of cognitive awareness and critical thinking skills

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Activities*:
• Identify cognitive distortions like “all or nothing” thinking
• Creating “thought record” sheets
• Relaxation and positive self-talk techniques
• Exercises to increase your ability to be in the here-and-now
• Create personal action plans
• Cognitive restructuring exercises
